TravelSafe Travel Insurance FAQs
Do TravelSafe travel insurance plans cover Covid?
With TravelSafe plans, Covid-19 is treated the same as other types of sickness under the terms of the travel plans. The TravelSafe Classic plan and the TravelSafe Basic plan both offer Covid-related trip cancellation and medical expenses coverage.
If you come down with Covid just before your trip and have to cancel, these travel plans will reimburse you for 100% of what you lose in pre-paid and non-refundable deposits. And if you get Covid during your trip, these plans can cover your medical costs.
Do TravelSafe travel insurance plans cover pre-existing medical conditions?
Pre-existing medical condition exclusion waivers are available from TravelSafe. Check the details of your policy to confirm this coverage.
This waiver means that pre-existing conditions won’t be excluded from your travel insurance coverage. For example, TravelSafe’s Classic plan will cover pre-existing conditions if you buy the plan within 21 days of your initial trip deposit. You also must have been medically able to travel when you bought the plan. Pre-existing conditions waivers are not offered in all states for the TravelSafe Basic plan.
Do TravelSafe travel insurance plans offer “cancel for any reason” coverage?
TravelSafe offers “cancel for any reason” (CFAR) travel insurance on its TravelSafe Classic plan as an upgrade but not its Basic plan.
“Cancel for any reason” coverage will allow you to cancel your trip for a reason not listed in the plan’s base trip cancellation reasons and receive partial reimbursement. For example, you could cancel your trip because you have a fear of crowds.
Study the rules for CFAR for the plan you’re buying. For example, TravelSafe’s Classic plan will reimburse you for 75% of your trip costs under a CFAR claim. You must buy the “cancel for any reason” upgrade within 21 days of making your initial trip deposit and no less than two days before your trip departure date. To make a CFAR claim, you must cancel your trip at least two days before your departure date.
